1 Timothy 6

Verse 5

“Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.”

I feel like some people only associate God with what He can do for you. What you can gain out of the relationship, materialistically of coarse. Sometimes it's not our fault or intentions, it's just what we saw everyone else do or say about God. We are kinda a lost generation where this is concerned. We love our designer brands and expensive cars. We really have it all wrong.

Listen, a believer who has been through some things and came out on the other side praising God, knows that the gain you get from God is far greater than any “thing.” This person knows that without God they would be DEAD!!!

Verse 6 says “godliness with contentment is great gain” and later in verse 11 it says “follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness..”

My point is that We should follow God and keep our faith in God just because of WHO HE IS, not what we can gain. Somehow the world has convinced us that its about the gain, but God is saying from such withdraw yourself!

The fruits of righteousness is far greater than anything you can achieve of the world! I found true love from my Father in heaven, purpose, peace, and hope!! He desires for us to be whole in Him and that doesn’t have anything to do with the outside anyway.

God Bless.
